The Amy Rossborough Fellowship is designed to give Yale undergraduates the opportunity to undertake service projects affecting women in the greater New Haven community. The Women's Center and the Rossborough family are particularly interested in making this opportunity available to students who, for financial reasons, would otherwise be unable to participate in community service or political action. Each Fellowship lasts for one semester, although it may be extended to a full year at the discretion of the Directors of the Fellowship. The Amy Rossborough Fellowship is made possible through the generosity of the Rossborough family, in honor of their daughter Amy (1959–1979). Amy was a political activist and a fight for women’s rights and social justice when she died in the summer before her senior year at Yale.

The Amy Rossborough Fellowship 2012–13

The Amy Rossborough Fellowship Program is currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 academic year. The program awards up to $1,500 to undergraduate students to complete a semester or year long social justice project in the New Haven area. The Amy Rossborough Fellowship is especially interested in funding projects that will affect women in New Haven, but will consider any proposed project relating to social justice. Past recipients have organized projects ranging from hosting economic empowerment workshops for young women to conducting yoga classes for under-served populations to art projects that examine social inequalities in New Haven. Students awarded the fellowship will have monthly meetings with the fellowship coordinator and other fellows over lunch beginning in the Fall 2012 semester and will present their project at a colloquium, which will be organized by the Fellowship.
